Built in the southern part of Rome at the behest of Caracalla, their construction began in 212 and ended in 217.
The Thermae Antoninianae or Baths of Caracalla were the most important thermal complex of antiquity.
The complex was built under the emperor Caracalla and is a rectangular plan is typical of the great imperial baths.
The spas were not only a building for bathing, sports and body care, but also a place for walking and studying.
It was 537 BC and the spas were no longer used since that time until the settlement of Diocletian who transformed them into a real meeting place and fun for Roman citizens.
