National Gallery of Modern Art Wheelchair Accessible Tours
Housed in the classical Palazzo delle Belle Arti in Valle Giulia, a few steps from Villa Borghese, the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome.
Is the only state public museum dedicated exclusively to modern and contemporary art since its foundation, with a collection of 20,000 works from the 19th century to the present day.
Includes in its collections important masterpieces by artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Amedeo Modigliani, Gustav Klimt, Jackson Pollock, Giacomo Balla, Lucio Fontana.
In addition Marcel Duchamp, Antonio Canova, Gustave Courbet, Andy Warhol, Giorgio de Chirico, Claude Monet and Alberto Burri.
The building designed by Cesare Bazzani presents the characteristics of an official state architecture.
It legitimises itself by having its roots in a classical past, reinterpreted in an eclectic way, that is, by combining architectural elements of different styles.
Touring National Gallery of Modern Art
Inside are kept over 4,400 works of painting and sculpture and approximately 13,000 drawings and prints by artists of the XIX and XX centuries.
In addition to the museum itself, the structure also includes archives on the history of the museum and the works present.
Finally, there is also a vast library containing 79,500 inventoried volumes available to the public, and approximately 1,500 specialized periodical publications.
The vastness and quality of the works present in the museum cannot be exhausted here and therefore we can only invite you to visit it and immerse yourself completely in the artistic beauties of that era.
The guided tour of the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome is a two-century-long journey.
That allows you to retrace the fundamental stages of Italian and International artistic evolution, through the masterpieces of its greatest exponents.
